Celadon Trucking Services Appoints Three Vice Presidents

INDIANAPOLIS June 23, 2004 Celadon Group Inc. (Nasdaq: CLDN) has announced the appointments of three vice presidents for its Celadon Trucking Services Inc. division. Jim Hogue has been promoted to Vice President, Sales; Bart Middleton to Vice President, Corporate Controller; and Wayne Deno to Vice President, Treasurer.

The promotions of these three individuals will enhance our talented senior management team," said Celadon Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steve Russell. Jim, Bart and Wayne have each demonstrated an exceptional commitment to Celadon and their new roles are a reflection of their hard work and contributions.

Hogue joined Celadon in August 2003 as Director of East Coast Sales. In his new position, he will oversee a sales team of nearly 30 people across the United States and Canada. Hogue has more than 34 years of experience in the trucking industry, including the previous seven years with Contract Freighters Inc. in roles as regional sales manager and director of eastern sales. Hogue holds a bachelors degree in business administration and accounting from John Carroll University and a masters degree in business administration from Frostburg State University. He will continue reporting to Celadon Group Chief Operating Officer Tom Glaser.

Middleton joined Celadon in July 1995 as Assistant Controller. He became Controller in May 1999. Prior to joining the company, he spent two years as an auditor for Deloitte & Touch in Cincinnati. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelors degree in business and is a CPA.

Deno joined Celadon in January 1996 and most recently had been Director of Finance. He started with the company as a driver payroll associate and has worked in a variety of positions, including as financial analyst and claims manager. He graduated from Ball State University with a bachelors degree in business.

Waynes career with Celadon is representative of the career opportunities our company provides its employees, said Celadon Group Chief Financial Officer Paul Will. He began as a driver payroll associate and has worked his way up to vice president over an eight-year period. Deno and Middleton will both continue reporting to Will.

Joe Soens has been hired to assume Hogues prior responsibilities as Director of East Coast Sales. Soens has more than 27 years of experience in the trucking industry. Prior to joining Celadon, he spent 16 years with Contract Freighters Inc. as regional sales manager. Most recently, he was director of sales for A.D. Transport Express.
