Triple Crown Maintenance Tops 550 Safe-Work Days

FORT WAYNE, IN, March 27, 2003 -Triple Crown Services Companys Maintenance and Repair facility completed 2002 with no lost-time accidents. This was the second year of the past three for the achievement. Currently, the employee team at the facility has worked over 550 consecutive days without a lost-time accident.

The Terminal and Maintenance Facility is staffed by 43 employees, including 28 mechanics. It operates continuously 24 hours/day throughout the year from its Fort Wayne, IN, location. An average of ten trains, each averaging 85 trailers, move through the Fort Wayne terminal every day.

The Fort Wayne facility is Triple Crowns only maintenance shop. Repairs are made to truck trailers and rail wheel assemblies (bogies) sent to the site from terminals across the U.S. The majority of repairs involve welding, heavy lifting, trailer repair, and mechanical work in, under, and on trailers and bogies.
