PHOENIX, Mar 2, 2005- Swift Transportation Co. Inc. (Nasdaq: SWFT) is proud to announce that it has earned two prestigious awards from Dollar Tree Stores Inc.
-Inbound Carrier of the Year for 2004
-Outbound Carrier of the Year for 2004
The coveted Inbound Carrier of the Year award is presented to a carrier delivering from a manufacturer to Dollar Tree's distribution centers recognizing on-time pickup as the primary criteria.
In discussing the Inbound Carrier of the Year award, Dean Jones, vice president of transportation for Dollar Tree, said, "Dollar Tree is pleased to present Swift Transportation with the Dollar Tree Stores' Inbound Carrier of the Year Award for 2004. This award recognizes Swift's superior customer service, its commitment to on-time pickup, and the strong partnership that exists between Dollar Tree Stores and Swift Transportation."
The prestigious Outbound Carrier award is presented to a carrier delivering from Dollar Tree's distribution centers to the 2,700-plus Dollar Tree retail stores. Service, utilization, backhauls and damage-free merchandise delivery are the key factors for determining the award recipient.
"Swift Transportation has supported the growth of Dollar Tree Outbound Transportation for more than five years," said Jones. "This strategic partnership has blossomed over the years." Jones continued, "Dollar Tree Stores is proud to recognize Swift's outbound dedicated fleet in Stockton, Calif., as the Outbound Carrier Operation of the Year. Based on Dollar Tree Stores' criteria for each award, Swift Transportation Co. ranked the highest.
