Roadway Express Driver Bob Johnson Reaches Milestone of One Million Safe Miles

DETROIT, Michigan - April 7, 2005 - Roadway Express professional city driver, Bob Johnson, has attained the elite status of driving one million miles without a preventable accident.

Johnson, 49, has been with Roadway for 14 years. For 11 years he was domiciled in the Ann Arbor, Michigan terminal, where he served as a Steward for five  years. He is presently domiciled at the Detroit facility and is a member of Local 299 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

"We are all proud of Bob's outstanding performance. He exemplifies the engagement and pride essential to make our highways safe while meeting our customers' needs," said Bob Stull, president of Roadway Express. "He is truly a leader in the industry."

Johnson will be recognized for his achievement at a safety breakfast. He will receive a plaque and jacket honoring his dedication to safety.

We congratulate Bob and look forward to his second million safe miles," said Director of Regional Operations for the Detroit facility, Tom Siefert.

Johnson and his wife reside in Commerce Township, Michigan with their two daughters. He enjoys snowmobiling, classic cars and boating.
