OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Feb. 23Yellow Transportation has successfully launched its next-day service with a 98 percent on-time performance record. The next-day offering is the newest service capability provided through Yellow Standard Ground.
"Our next-day operating performance in the first week was nearly flawless," says James L. Welch, president and CEO of Yellow Transportation. "We did an awesome job right out of the gate. The initial offering spans an area extending from Wisconsin through upstate New York and from northern Michigan into Tennessee; expansion of next-day service capabilities is anticipated, given the success of Phase One. The new Yellow service expands a portfolio of market-leading transportation capabilities including regional, national, global, guaranteed, expedited and North American cross-border shipping.
