Cardinal Logistics Managment Named as Delivery Partner of the Year by The Home Depot

Special Awards Also Presented to Cardinal Logistics in Recognition for Hurricane Relief Efforts

CONCORD, N.C. (November 12, 2004) --- Cardinal Logistics Managment, one of the countrys fastest growing third party logistics and transportation providers, was named by The Home Depot as their Delivery Partner of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. Cardinal Delivery, Inc., the dedicated delivery division of Cardinal Logistics Managment, was recognized with the distinctive honor during The Home Depots annual Carrier Conference held at the Waverly Galleria Hotel in Atlanta, GA late last month.

Competing against seven other large transportation carriers, Cardinal Logistics Management was selected as The Home Depot Delivery Partner of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, along with receiving two additional awards in recognition of Cardinals extraordinary efforts during this years tumultuous hurricane season in Florida . During this past hurricane season, Florida was hit by four major hurricanes over a six-week period, explained Chris Landro, Director of Store Delivery for The Home Depot. Our stores and communities in the affected areas were in urgent need of hurricane supplies. To meet those needs it often required unplanned loads be picked up at Distribution Centers (DCs), other Home Depot store locations across the state and from many of our suppliers. Without fail, every time we turned to Cardinal Logistics for assistance, Jay Evans and his team delivered.

Cardinal Logistics manages retail delivery operations for a large number of Home Depot stores across the country and in Puerto Rico. Many of the Home Depot retail stores overseen by Cardinal include a high number of retail delivery operations in Florida in particular in the heart of areas hardest hit by several of the hurricanes that pummeled parts of Florida and the Gulf Coast this past October.

According to Vin McLoughlin, Cardinal Logistics Chairman of the Board, it was quite a challenge to keep up with the enormous inventory demands and increased volume levels needed by The Home Depot leading up to and immediately following the series of devastating hurricanes that swept through the Florida region.

With the support from many Cardinal Delivery accounts across the country, our operations in Florida were able to maintain world-class service for a valued customer like The Home Depot, Evans said.  He added that although it has been a challenging and busy road since the storms hit, the entire team at Cardinal has embraced the challenge and are honored that Home Depot recognized and relied on Cardinal to meet their customer needs.

McLoughlin added that special thanks should be extended to both Cardinal full and part-time employees and drivers, customer support center and field support teams and particularly Bud Workmon , John Earwood, Jay Evans, Rick Cerny, Jim Chenet, Jill Ethington, Larry Show, and Mike Wells for their tremendous dedication demonstrated for this valued account and the communities in need of receiving necessary supplies and materials.
