Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines Limited Keeps Expanding

Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines Limited (M-O®) are LTL (less than truckload) and truckload freight carriers. They have a group of Companies that include: M-O® FreightWorks®, M-O® ParcelWorks®, M-O®’s PaperXpress, M-O® LogisticWorks®.

On May M-O® acquired On Ice (Canada) Inc., a small company that delivers small temperature controlled freights. They purchased the shares of On Ice (Canada) Inc. in two parts. The first half of their shares were bought on 2004 and the rest of the shares were obtained on May 16th. 

On Ice (Canada) Inc. solves all customer transportation needs of products that are sensitive to certain temperatures; some of these products are paints, inks, food, food ingredients, pharmaceuticals, cryogenics, biologics, specialty compounds and regulated products. They have total commitment to customer service because they know that their customers want to find the means to ship temperature-sensitive freight in a cost effective way to their stores and businesses.

According to Doug Munro, president of Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines Limited, acquisitions like this are part of their strategies of acquiring businesses that accomplish the needs of emerging markets. Based in Ontario, On Ice provides its services in Toronto, Halifax, Ottawa and Montreal.
