Walters-Dimmick Petroleum Inc.
Walters-Dimmick Petroleum, Inc., (WDP) is a marketing partner of Shell petroleum products with a primary focus on the distribution of Shell Quality Fuels across southwestern Michigan, northern Indiana, and northern Ohio. This is accomplished through a large network of Shell branded retail facilities that are operated by either company personnel or by independent dealers.
In addition to Shell gasoline, most sites include convenience stores, and may also include branded fast food restaurants, such as Subway, Jimmy John's, and A&W; car washes; auto service centers; ATMs and other services. Where it's possible, several of these products and services are combined onto a single site to provide a quick and easy way for the customer to get the quality products and services that he or she wants while at one convenient location. Walters-Dimmick Petroleum, Inc., was formed in September of 1982, by the merger of two Shell branded petroleum marketers-Walters Distributing Company of Marshall, Michigan, and Dimmick Petroleum Enterprises, Inc.WDS Ventures, L.L.C., (WDS) a limited liability company, is a partnership between Walters-Dimmick Petroleum, Inc., and Shell Oil Products U.S. Like WDP, WDS is a wholesale marketer of Shell petroleum products, and markets through a network of company and dealer operated, Shell branded retail facilities in the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Battle Creek market areas. Walters-Dimmick Petroleum is the operating member of the partnership and employs all of the personnel at the WDS company-operated sites-WDS Ventures has no employees.
Over the years, from the inception of Walters-Dimmick Petroleum, Inc., to the relatively recent formation of WDS Ventures, L.L.C., the Company has developed many lasting relationships with its independent dealers and has enjoyed the opportunity to work with, and learn from, the diverse group of individual marketers.
A great amount of the Company's success can be attributed to its extensive network of entrepreneurial, independent dealers, who have played a vital role in developing, growing, and promoting, the Shell Brand in their areas. Approximately half of the Company's total retail network consists of dealer-operated locations, either owned or leased from the Company by the dealer. It is the Company's goal to continue to grow the Shell Brand through both company and dealer operated locations, and to be the preferred branded supplier to current and prospective dealers.
